HANAKO MÜLLER
is a young, female photographic artist currently residing and studying in Naarm / Melbourne.
Using a poetic and diaristic approach to documentary style photography, Hanako’s multifaceted practice looks to find moments of beauty and stillness within the everyday, while weaving narratives that reflect upon identity as both an individual and in relationship to those around her.
Hanako’s art often considers notions of personal placement within physical and social spaces, and explores ways in which still imagery can be used to navigate non-linear and ever-evolving concepts such as memory, influence, identity, and connection.
Recognising art as a powerful conduit for human connection, Hanako uses photography and bodies of work as catalysts for conversation, introspection, and observation. Through her work, Hanako hopes to spark contemplation or imagination, invite viewers to engage deeply, and evoke an appreciation for the nuances of the diverse yet shared human experience.
